Keithley Instruments Makes donation to EE Department
April, 2003
Keithley Instruments recently made a generous donation
of sixteen of their model 2400 SourceMeters to the EE department
at the beginning of the 2003 winter quarter. According to professor
David Braun, ?Such meters come in quite handy, and we have
started using them in the EE 248, EE 347, and EE 413 lab courses
during Winter quarter. Other courses will also likely make use of
these test items in subsequent quarters.?
A SourceMeter operates either as a DC voltage source
while metering the current it supplies, or it operates as a DC current
source while metering the voltage, Dr. Braun explained. Kiethley
Instruments adds that it's well-suited for testing a wide range
of devices, including diodes, resistors, resistor networks, active
circuit protection devices, and portable battery-powered devices
and components.
Keithley Instruments was founded in 1946 by Joseph
F. Keithley and is known for quality measurement instruments and
data acquisition products for the electronics industry.
